PRIDE is not cancelled! Now more than ever we need to celebrate and uplift our beautiful community.
On June 28th, 1969 we said no more! No more to hate! No more abusive treatment from the police and we demanded R-E-S-P-E-C-T! It’s all due to the courage of Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, two trans women of color who threw the first “stone” that launched our collective fight against the oppressor. Over 60 years later and we are still fighting what feels like the same fight. With the spirit of Stonewall and the 60’s rebellion which has spread to LGBTQ+ people all over the world, many for the first time found themselves part of a community that continues to get stronger and more powerful than ever! So please don’t stop, let’s continue to celebrate, protest and throw bricks and dance to these amazing BLACK LGBTQ+ artists who are using their voice and definitely worth a listen!
