With an immersive beat that hooks you from the very first second, singer and songwriter Madison Margot has released “Fun,” fully soaked in a sound that’s sincere, simple, and easy-to-digest pop.
“I wrote it about wanting just one more night with an old love, where you forget what went wrong and just relive the beauty and magic. It’s a song to dance around your room in the midst of heartbreak and healing. It’s a song for anyone who’s prone to romanticizing the past,” she shared.
The track is infused with the indie pop and rock sound that defines Madison Margot. And while it’s danceable, it carries a nostalgic and even retro tone, reminiscent of The Cranberries’ classic melancholy, the fluid dreaminess of Sixpence None the Richer, or the emotional intensity of Sinead O’Connor.
A season spent living in England allowed Madison Margot to weave elements of the local music scene and British pop into her Angeleno DNA: softer, melodic, and carefully crafted to entertain and create easily felt connections.
“Fun” hits digital platforms following the success of previous tracks like God Laughs, If We Fall, and her most recent TOO MUCH!, all from her debut album The Chronicles of Lovers, produced by Kyle Shearer (Tove Lo, Caroline Polachek, Carly Rae Jepsen).
In addition to her lifelong passion for music—she picked up the guitar at just 11—Madison holds a degree in Gender and Women’s Studies, which led her to a kind of activism that moves beyond words into action. That’s why she works exclusively with female directors, championing women’s talent and pushing for much-needed sisterhood in the industry.
With “Fun,” Madison aims to further establish herself as a strong and compelling force in an almost infinite pop catalog, armed with undeniable talent and an aura of approachability as clear and sharp as her artistic vision.
