Back in 2020, “Right Girl Wrong Time” exploded online, pulling millions of streams and piquing ears over at CMT. Since then, she’s kept her name in rotation, stacking streams in the tens of millions and stepping onto stages with artists across genres, proving she’s indeed a cut or two above.
“Cowboy Killer,” released this past October, is the single where Madison throws caution aside. The track was bold, edgy, and restless, a mix of vulnerability and bite that feels like a warning and a celebration at once. But now with the season of seasons upon us, she’s crafted a brand new banger that I’m sure Santa will be blasting in his sleigh this coming Christmas Eve.
“Santa, Can You Fix a Broken Heart?” isn’t the kind of Christmas track that leans on sleigh bells and sugar‑coated cheer. It’s a plea to the season’s most mythical figure to mend something no gift can touch.
For the music video, the intent was clear from the get-go. The surface feels warm, nostalgic, and even playful, yet underneath, there is a heaviness, a sense of someone trying to keep up appearances while carrying heartbreak. The staged set design by Katrina Short gives you the warmth of Christmas lights and nostalgic décor, while the home‑movie cuts remind you of the loneliness at the center of the song. Robert Chavers’ editing stitches those worlds together so the video flickers between memory and present, between the magic we expect and the ache we don’t.
So, this December, let the song play while you hang your stockings or pour another glass of eggnog, and let it speak for the quiet moments when joy feels out of reach. Sometimes the most honest gift is simply admitting the hurt, and sometimes the best tradition is finding music that understands it.
