INTERVIEW: INSIDE SAINT STACY’S DEBUT ALBUM “BEGINNER AGAIN” AND HER JOURNEY OF RENEWAL

Saint Stacy marks her full-length debut with “Beginner Again,” an album celebrating reinvention, growth, and the beauty of new beginnings. With over 20 million global streams and an aesthetic where fashion and visual art merge seamlessly with music, the artist, whose real name is Kristina, proves why she’s one of the genre’s most promising new voices.

Before launching her solo project, she was the lead vocalist of Kadebostany, performing over 300 shows across 20 countries. That experience shaped her path and now resonates in an intimate, cinematic record where every song invites self-rediscovery.

We sat down with Saint Stacy to talk about what it means to begin again, the power of live performance, the connection between music and visual aesthetics, and her most revealing track.

The title of your debut album, Beginner Again, hints at renewal and reinvention. What personal meaning does this concept of “beginning again” hold for you?

For me, beginning again means not being afraid to change, to learn, to explore new things, and to discover new sides of my creativity. It’s a reminder that it’s never too late to start something new!

How did the concept for Beginner Again take shape? Was it something you envisioned from the start, or did it evolve naturally through the songs?

It came about naturally, but making this album meant dealing with many unexpected challenges. Some moments were really hard. It took a lot of time and effort, but learning and adapting along the way felt like starting over and becoming new.

The album features eleven tracks with titles that evoke emotions and intimate moments. Is there one song that you feel best captures who you are today as an artist?

I’d say the song that best describes me is “Purple Vibe.” It’s like every night before sleeping, we leave this world to become a new version of ourselves the next day.

The visual side of your work also plays a key role in your artistry. How does your background in visual art and fashion connect with the musical narrative of Beginner Again?

Visuals are a natural extension of my music. My experience in fashion and visual art allows me to create a world around my songs, a mood that both my listeners and I can immerse ourselves in.

Before launching your solo project, you were the lead vocalist of Kadebostany and performed over 300 shows worldwide. What did you take away from that experience, and how did you apply those lessons to your solo career?

Yesterday I was on a radio show, and we were talking about exactly that. In the past, musicians used to perform a lot of concerts before recording their albums, but today it’s often the opposite: we record the songs first, post them on TikTok, and hope to go viral to get the chance to tour afterwards!

My experience with Kadebostany was incredibly important. I always say, Go sing live as much as possible, do as many shows as you can! It will change everything in your artistic life; it broadens your horizons like nothing else.

In 2026, you’ll be embarking on your first European headlining tour. What can audiences expect from your live performances, and how are you preparing for this new chapter?

I leave nothing to chance; every part of my show is carefully considered and planned. It all serves the unified concept of Beginner Again. The live show is a continuation of the album, and I have a great band with me for the tour. We are rehearsing now, so come and experience it for yourself.
