Out of the California deserts emerges FireBug, with sounds just as bizarre and dreamlike as your wildest dreams. They’re undeniably original-sounding, so if you’re willing to venture into something new, their music will certainly hit all the correct notes.
Juliette Tworsey and Jules Shapiro formed FireBug. Their music seamlessly bridges contemporary rock with the psychedelic influences of the late ’60s and early ’70s while incorporating elements of blues, folk, electronica, and New Orleans soul. The result is a sophisticated and distinctive sound that defies traditional genre boundaries.
From SXSW, CMJ, and NXNE to the sold-out Sonisphere Festival at Knebworth and the legendary Dublin Castle in London, FireBug has been setting stages ablaze worldwide. They’ve shared the stage with the likes of Iggy Pop, Iron Maiden, The Cult, Alice In Chains, Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, and even toured with 1960s icon Donovan. They collaborated with two-time Grammy winner Adrian Bushby and released the anthemic track “Red, White and Blue,” which became an instant hit.
FireBug proudly continues their tradition of crafting offbeat but highly engaging music in their new track, “Time Marches On.” Ever curious to know what ’70s psychedelia would be like today? Well, now you know. Driven by an insistently thumping beat, the track blends rock and psychedelia in a way that echoes the spirit of Creedence Clearwater Revival and Jefferson Airplane. The guitar is sparkly, and Juliette’s voice is flat-out hypnotic.
Composed by Jordan Lawlor, the track is the perfect representation of FireBug’s style. The single is paired with a striking music video full of wacky visuals. The retro-themed images are a natural pairing for the song’s themes.
FireBug takes the stage at Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown on July 17. Secure your tickets now.
