“I Wool Survive” The Runway: Grindr, Rainbow Wool, and Michael Schmidt’s Knitted Kink Fantasy

Okay, LADYGUNNERS “I Wool Survive” wasn’t just an event, it was a moment. Grindr’s first big dip into the fashion world? iconic! They teamed up with Rainbow Wool and the legend, designer Michael Schmidt, for a collection that was pure, unfiltered fantasy.

If you don’t know Michael Schmidt, you need to. His work is in museums, and he’s dressed every pop diva that matters…we’re talking Cher, Madonna, Mariah, and most recently, that wild Doja Cat look for Vogue World LA? Yeah, that was him.

But the real magic? Michael Schmidt joined forces with the mother-daughter Swedish knitwear duo Suss and Hanna Cousins, the hand-loomed, sustainable knitwear divas. Together, they hand-knit and crocheted 36 archetypal gay fantasy looks. We’re talking looks based on iconic characters like ADAM, FIREMAN, DOCTOR & PATIENT, PLUMBER, and PIZZA DELIVERY BOY… all the classics, majorly elevated.

The whole collection made its debut on the runway, and LADYGUNN had the ultimate exclusive: a backstage pass to all the glam, all the looks, and, obviously, all the boys! It was eye candy galore, and honestly, we have a total fashion tooth ache.
