Von isnât here to play it safe. Sheâs a queer artist, professor, DJ, and performance provocateur who creates music from her own orgasm wave patternsâyes, you read that right. Her art is radical, raw, and steeped in themes of Catholic guilt, sexist tropes, and queer performance theory. Her biggest kink? “Intimacy”.
A fixture of NYCâs queer underground, Von is also the founder of the performance art collective BLOODY MARY, a haven for boundary-breaking expression and body politics. She moonlights (and daylight lectures) as a professor at NYUâs Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, where she fuses academia with erotic subversion. Her unapologetic collaborations span from avant-pop rebels like Pussy Riot to boundary-blurring brands like Pornhub.
On April 11, Von dropped her debut EP â2.0ââand in true Von fashion, she celebrated by leaking her own sex tape alongside a performance art installation at an underground venue in Bushwick. âFuck everyone on the internet thatâs silencing queer voices,â Von said. âLetâs just fuck in front of them.â The event was part voyeurism, part rave: a bed centerstage, white linens, Von performing, DJing, sexting, and seducing while the crowd danced and dissolved into the experience.
“2.0” is more than a EPâit’s a manifesto for real sex, real work, and real bodies. In a climate where queer voices, sex workers, and underground creatives are being censored, Von is cranking the volume to the max. The EP features bold, beat-heavy collaborations with Suzi Wu, estoc, and Ani Klang, each track pulsing with the raw urgency of lived experience.
