Emo Nite started in Los Angeles, as an event started by three friends: Babs Szabo, T.J. Petracca and Morgan Freed at a small dive bar where they simply just “wanted to play their favorite music.” “We honestly thought Emo Nite would be a one-time event at a small dive bar where 15 of our friends would show up,” Babs says. Little did they know, the event would morph into a huge monthly event, bringing together people who share the love of emo rock music from the 90's, 2000's, and today — changing the idea of what a music event can be. In its’ original format, Imagine that downstairs (let’s say at The Echoplex in Los Angeles) you’ve got some of the biggest names from the original emo-era like Mark Hoppus of Blink 182, DJing remixes of your favorite emo songs. Then, upstairs (possibly at The Echo) emerging bands like I DON’T KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME are playing some of their first shows

NOT SURE YET: R&B SINGER REECE, ON HIS DEBUT EP

The songs included on I’m Not Sure Yet changed over the course of two years; his only vision was to make “a project full of songs that I loved and I wanted people to hear.” Lyrically, things to tie together as each song sees Reece writing about himself. The tracks relate to love, getting older, and learning to deal with hardships in life like mental illness. Speaking on the connecting threads, Reece says, “I wanted to have a theme of maybe a little bit of a brain vomit but kind of like — a brain vomit that's a little bit… put together as well.”

VIDEO PREMIERE: JAMIE N COMMONS' "WON'T LET GO" VIDEO

Recently starting to explore the romantic 80’s blue-eyed pop we all knew from films by John Hughes, Jamie’s new song “Won’t Let Go” sounds as if Peter Gabriel and Bruce Springsteen mated and had a child with Phil Collins voice. Jamie says the inspiration for the song came after watching a film he hadn’t seen in years, “I was re-watching a bunch of James Cameron movies one month and decided to give “Titanic” a go after 10-15 years of not seeing it.
