Your music is such an uplifting force! What inspired/influenced your sound?

The rock gods of the 70s and 80s. That might be cliche but it’s true. There’s something incredible about those musicians. They’re immortal.

What’s your writing process?

My car doesn’t have working speakers so driving around I’m forced to make my own music. A lot of my ideas come from singing top lines A cappella on the 101.

What goes into preparing and putting on a Bonavega show?

Usually the renting of a U-haul! I always try to have a big set piece and that always requires a little extra prep but it’s always worth it!

Who are you without the lipstick and fishnets?

If lipstick and fishnets me is an 11, the non lipstick fishnets me is an 8. Same guy just a little less intense.

Let’s talk about your amazing body. What’s your daily food/workout plan?

Who me?? Hehehe. I avoid sugar and carbs for the most part. It’s pretty obvious but that really works. Also brutal workouts help… high intensity and consistency is key.

Any tips for those who are working on getting their summer bod?

Intermittent fasting! If you pick a 6 to 8 hour window to eat in, and stick to it, you’ll see insane results.

What’s your favorite food?

Steak.

You told me you were very religious until a few years ago. As someone who also came from a very religious background, what caused you to start questioning your belief?

A series of things but the main thing was watching this weird Youtube video called The Zeitgeist. It changed me haha.

I know it’s challenging to turn your back on the community that raised you, no matter what the circumstances are. You seem pretty balanced. How did you transition from one life to the next?

I set up boundaries with people from my past life who affected me negatively. It’s painful in the short term but very beneficial in the long term.

Do you have any advice for others seeking their own truth?

Don’t give a shit what people think of you. Be you. Be happy.

What were you like as a kid?

Besides repressed? Haha I think I was generally a pretty nice/curious guy. At least that’s what I went for.

What makes you the most happy?

Experiencing art of any kind that moves me.

Tell me about your new song and your collaboration with Trashworld?

I decided to cover Kim Petra’s song “XXX” but did it in a punk rock vibe. I’ve been trying to lean into the heavier side of rock but I still love pop music to my core, so I wanted to do a nice blend of both.

What’s it like working with Ashley and Dani?

They are both so fun and talented! We were pretty much all laughing throughout the whole process. It’s a very cheeky song and doing it in a serious rock way was hilarious.

Dream show/collab?

Call me crazy but having a rock opera type show in Vegas would be so sick. I think collaborating with someone like Gaga would be legendary. Obviously.

What’s next for you? Any upcoming shows or new music in the works?

I have a bunch of new tunes in the works and will be booking shows this summer for sure! Playing San Diego in July which will be awesome!
