DA & The Jones is Daniel Ahearn & Mindy Jones. The two began collaborating in 2011, after being successful solo artists in their own right. Daniel has had tracks featured in hit TV shows such as Mercy, Pretty Little Liars, Army Wives among others while Mindy is a frequent collaborator of Moby. Her deep enchanting vocals are featured on four tracks from his most recent release, Innocents. The duo’s debut LP, produced by Mocky (Peaches, Feist, Chilly Gonzales), came out yesterday. They share vocal duty evenly throughout the album, seamlessly duetting a breathy downbeat record with soft, uplifting and serene vibe.
“Sirens” is a full of beautiful vignettes, cowboy boots, laughing, slow dancing, and elements of love and loss over breathy harmonies by Daniel and Mindy. Shot at Echo Park favorite Little Joy in Los Angeles, the video is as beautiful as it is fascinating. However most of the interest might lay in Daniel and Mindy. They sing about the nature in relationships in such an authentic way that it makes you wonder how much is fact and how much is fiction.
