With pool parties and poolside barbecues about to begin their kick-off, we can’t stop daydreaming about our days in Texas where we grubbed on more than we could handle at our party and beyond. To cure our blues, we decided to reminisce with our pals over at Dim Mak who gallivanted around Austin with their own showcase in tow. Headlined by Steve Aoki (featured in Ladygunn #11, out now), SBCR (aka The Bloody Beetroots), Crookers and Little Boots, the Dim Mak showcase hit capacity early in the afternoon as music revelers of all kinds flooded the iconic The Main venue to watch Aoki spin a throwback electro set alongside legendary artists SBCR and Crookers.
After the Wednesday showcase, the Dim Mak team spent their week exploring the city’s cowboy-meets-hipster culture, wolfing down barbecue, stopping by illustrious industry events and getting friendly with the people of SXSW. Between watching The Weeknd drop unreleased music at YouTube’s showcase, twerking through puddles at the Mad Decent showcase and even getting Texas-themed tattoos, the Dim Mak squad proved that everything was better in Texas – including the hangovers.
