Sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg aka First Aid Kit have just put the final touches on their Columbia Records debut, Stay Gold, set to be released this June. Klara and Johanna began composing songs in 2007 and quickly became the darlings of the music world and captivated the world with their recordings, Drunken Trees EP, 2010’s The Big Black & The Blue and the 2012 critically acclaimed The Lion’s Roar album.
First Aid Kit has toured the globe, sharing the stage with artists including Prince, Jack White, Lykee Li, and Bright Eyes, and are festival favorite performing at concerts including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Newport Folk Festival, and Austin City Limits.
We got a chance to chat with them in Stockholm and Los Angeles where the whole LADYGUNN team fell in love with these two kindred souls. Here we chat with them about dropping out of school, Patti Smith crying at their retention of “Dancing Barefoot”, touring, and everything in between!
