Hailing from New York City, singer-songwriter Harper Simon has had high expectations placed upon the music that he creates, considering he is the son of the legendary Paul Simon. However, it’s obvious that he can stand on his own merit. Through the abundance of knowledge that Simon has acquired from all avenues of life, he has perfected his craft, arriving at a sophisticated landing point away from any superficial comparisons. While his 2010 debut was immersed in folk-rock influences, his current album (released earlier this year), Division Street, has taken a slight turn for a sound that’s more propelled by electric guitars.
