DID IT HURT WHEN YOU FELL FROM HEAVEN (AND SHATTERED)?

Layering maximalist garments, designed by Wiederhoeft (WWDPaperV), with cubist-inspired collage, these balletic beauties have fallen from grace and into the shattered world of dreams. Through Simon’s fragmented reality we see the beautiful ballerina, the pained princess and the enchantress as fairy tales for a modern age. Inspired by stained glass windows and religious iconoclasm, the remaining fragments are reconstructed into a puzzling new reality, asking us ‘Is a glance in the mirror ever what it seems?’ Working directly with the designer as the stylist, Paul Simon and Jackson Wiederhoeft were able to explore a darker vision of the romantic, classic characters pulled from Wiederhoeft’s debut SS20 collection, Spooky Couture.
