“Superduper” is a track of the highest quality that from the first second invites you to travel. It evokes places and mental scenarios through the melody as if it were the soundtrack of a movie that you are visualizing in your own head. At times it develops a very modern and avant-garde sound, but at other times it sounds like a piece taken from another era and reinvented to fit the 21st century.

The three-minute and thirty seconds long track is the perfect amalgamation of afrobeat, ethiojazz, surf, cinematic soul, crime jazz & funk/hip-hop. Instruments tell of a feverish story filled with dramatic melodies from the guitars, horns, and keyboards, while the edgy percussion amps the tension at every turn.

Musically, “Superduper” can be defined as a whirlwind of instrumental and dramatic sounds that were created within the framework of an overwhelmingly rich and virtuous orchestral production. It would be the perfect tune to accompany a vintage scene about a heartbreaking and urgent drama.

“Superduper” is the first all-new track from Sun Atlas’ upcoming debut album (title unknown), after the limited vinyl-only single “Grand Theft” hit the shelves in June 2019 via Mocambo Records— That first single sold out very quickly, leading to an eventual digital re-release in 2021 along with a public announcement concerning the Band’s future. “Superduper” marks the second in line of Sun Atlas’ track-by-track full album release via Berlin-based label “Bloodstream.”
