After his previous single, “Bright Side,” captivated international audiences across prominent platforms such as MTV Latin America and MTV Brazil, MkX dives headfirst into 2024 with Man on a Mission,” a powerful new single, which is the first in a series he will release throughout the year.

Written by MkX, Myah Marie, and Brandon Colbein and produced by MkX himself, “Man on a Mission” fuses elements of electro-pop, hyper-pop, and R&B, weaving a limitless autobiographical narrative that delves into MkX’s countless influences, bold ambitions and desire to express his unique individuality through his music and fashion.

MkX is no stranger to radio; His songs have appeared on Sirius XM, and The iHeart Dunkin’ Music Lounge and have been included on Mediabase Top 40 charts. Additionally, he has shared the stage with artists such as Ariana Grande, Christina Perri, and Rixton, both as part of a duo with his sister on drums and at multiple LGBTQ+ Pride events across the country.

“I’ve always had a very strong vision of my artistry sonically and visually,” MkX says. “I’m extremely determined when it comes to my music/visuals/career, so I wanted to write a song that serves as a lyrical artist statement. A song that explains who I am, what I do, and why I do what I do. I touch on the things I’ve learned throughout my journey being an artist/performer since I was eight years old. It takes a lot of patience, strength, and willpower to stay true to your artistry and creativity. Over the years, different people in the industry have tried to change my sound and image to be less outlandish, attempting to ‘straight-wash’ me. I’ve been on a mission not only to express my individuality but also to show others how liberating it is to express yourself to the fullest.” he explains.

The music video for Man on a Mission, directed by Scott McCullough (best known for his extensive, award-winning work with Prince), aims to reflect the song’s dark, sleek, and futuristic aesthetic, with hints of ’80s nostalgia.

MkX searched the Internet for independent designers and visited numerous stores in Los Angeles to find unique clothing that “screams MkX,” incorporating quirky couture styles as well as some vintage pieces with sentimental value.

The video also features many geometric shapes, silhouettes, and exaggerated proportions. The choreography was by Ian Mckenzie (known for his work with Lady Gaga).

“I knew exactly how I wanted everything to look. It was just a matter of making my vision come to life”, MkX concludes.

Man on a Mission as a song, is a statement of authenticity, determination, and artistic freedom that establishes MkX as an emerging talent to watch in today’s music scene.
