Dutch producer fingerbleed arrives with a debut that immediately showcases the full spectrum of his creative world. With the release of “About Us / PROTO,” the Nijmegen-born, Amsterdam-based artist presents two tracks that feel like opposite emotional poles, laying the groundwork for his forthcoming EP, Instant Gratification.

Drawing inspiration from Turkish psychedelia, guitar-driven songwriting, and immersive electronic production, fingerbleed has spent years refining a sound that refuses to stay within genre boundaries. The result is music that feels equally introspective and explosive, inviting listeners into moments of reflection before throwing them headfirst into pure sonic intensity.

Opening the release, “About Us” captures the quiet resilience that follows heartbreak. Written outdoors after the end of a relationship, the track transforms personal grief into something expansive and hopeful. Gentle electronic textures and understated melodies create space for healing, while the song’s gradual build mirrors the emotional shift from loss to self-renewal.

“I made this song after a breakup. I felt really bad and took all my stuff and went to nature to make music. It’s about showing your worth in this world and the excitement of life despite the ups and downs,” fingerbleed explains.

Its counterpart, “PROTO,” takes an entirely different approach. Where “About Us” breathes, “PROTO” lunges forward with crushing distortion, fractured electronics, and relentless energy. The track embraces experimentation without restraint, becoming an unapologetic statement about pushing sound to its breaking point.

“I love electronic and distorted sounds and wanted to be in your face with it. Go deeper and deeper; there’s always a way to take it a step further and try to make something sound undeniable,” he says.

Together, the two songs introduce the core philosophy behind Instant Gratification: music designed to make an immediate emotional impact. Rather than separating vulnerability from aggression, fingerbleed allows both to coexist, weaving together the psychedelic influences of his upbringing with contemporary electronic production into a debut that feels both deeply personal and impossible to ignore.
