The Olivia Anthony collection is a new line in collaboration with designer Olivia Anthony and Anthony McDowell. The dynamic duo had us at, netted head wraps and varsity capes. The brand is a fresh take on a youthful style, fun, innovation and imagination. We chatted with Olivia to see what she had planned next!
The new collection is so dynamic and bold! What were your inspirations of the type of person who might wear this line?
I describes my line as, “Harojuku girl mixed with a bit of babydoll sweetness. I see girls like Fka Twigs, Zendaya and Rihanna lady’s that take risk embracing this brand. My brand is not going to be understood by all and that’s okay. Maybe you don’t get it now…but you will.”
How did you guys meet?
Me and Ruby both go to the Rock Church so God brought us together!!
Can you tell me about your design background?
Well I started in college with my shirt line called L.I.V and I am also a fashion stylist so that why I wanted to make one of a kind pieces give a woman the opportunity to be edgy and make a fashion statement to give stylist playground for editorial Something I would want as a Stylist to make Art !
What other designers to you admire? is one thing you would like to add to the fashion industry?
I always admired a lot of designers like, Chanel,Alexander McQueen, Junya Watanabe and Viktor &Rolf. I want to set industry standards of that caliber for the NY market but at a more affordable price.
How do you see your line evolving?
Eventually becoming a family household name to Men’s children and pets !! Evolution of Olivia Anthony
Where is one place you should always dress up to go?
Everywhere you don’t always have to wear heels and a dress but definitely have a statement piece on !
