WILLIAM SIMEONE ON GLOBAL COLLABORATION, CULTURE, AND MAGNUM’S NEXT CHAPTER

Get to know William Simeone, the Senior Creative Producer at Magnum Photos, who has gained global respect for his contributions to visual journalism and documentary storytelling. Since joining Magnum in 2022, Simeone has played a central role in developing creative partnerships with leading brands, cultural institutions, agencies, and media organizations. His work focuses on shaping large-scale collaborations that extend Magnum’s photographic legacy into contemporary cultural and commercial contexts, delivering projects that combine creative integrity with international reach.

At Magnum, Simeone oversees partnership strategy, creative development, and end-to-end project delivery across experiential, editorial, and content-driven initiatives. His approach bridges creativity, culture, and brand storytelling, ensuring that each collaboration aligns with Magnum’s values while meeting complex commercial and logistical demands. He works closely with photographers, clients, and cross-border teams to translate ideas into cohesive global programs that resonate with broad audiences.

Among his most significant projects is UNIQLO’s Peace for All, a global photographic initiative uniting UNIQLO’s philanthropic platform with Magnum’s documentary practice. Simeone led project management and creative strategy for the campaign, commissioning photographers Cristina de Middel, Lindokuhle Sobekwa, and Olivia Arthur to document humanitarian aid efforts in Vietnam, Ethiopia, and Romania. The project included a worldwide exhibition program spanning major cities and retail locations, original T-shirt designs sold globally, and extensive public engagement. The campaign raised major financial support and received the IPRA Gold World Award for International Campaign in 2024.

Simeone has also led several high-profile brand collaborations that position photography at the intersection of art, culture, and luxury. These include Veuve Clicquot’s Emotions of the Sun, a large-scale pop-up exhibition in New York featuring new work by eight Magnum photographers, which attracted over 20,000 visitors in one week. He also directed Polaroid’s The Next Imperfectionist, a global open call and mentorship initiative supporting emerging photographers, culminating in an exhibition at Paris Photo. Both projects required extensive international coordination, creative leadership, and delivery at scale.

Additional projects under Simeone’s leadership include Prada Reporter: Witness to Nature, an exhibition presented at Prada’s Selfridges pop-up in London featuring 150 photographs by eight Magnum photographers, and Guinness: A Lovely Day, a North American campaign commissioning Alex Webb and Jim Goldberg to document community life across the US.

Before joining Magnum Photos, Simeone worked as an Agent Producer at Katy Barker Limited, representing photographers and directing editorial and commercial productions. He previously held roles in studio operations and marketing within the photography and fashion sectors, building a strong foundation in artist management and creative production. Simeone holds a degree in Publishing and Journalism from the University of the Arts London and is based in London, where he continues to focus on visual storytelling, cultural collaboration, and the delivery of ambitious international projects.
