LEXIE DELIVERS A SOFT GIRL GROOVE IN “PLANE JANE”

Often, finding peace is about learning to embrace chaos along the way. That’s what Lexie captures in “Plane Jane,” her new single, which transforms the emotional exhaustion and nomadic rhythm of artists into a blend of pop, soul, and infectious groove.

Written amidst airports, suitcases, heartbreak, and unfamiliar cities, the song captures the feeling of being constantly on the move and still finding moments of clarity and emotional stability. It speaks to those who live with their hearts in transit and their souls searching for a sense of home.

As a continuation of her Sassy Soft Girl Era and a natural evolution from her debut album “Diaries of a Disastrous Dating Life,” this track reflects Lexie’s journey from heartbreak to healing in motion.

Inspired by The Staple Singers’ classic “I’ll Take You There,” the track centers Lexie’s raspy, warm voice as she confesses that “home is a feeling, not a place,” a sentiment that resonates in every note of “Plane Jane.”

It opens with a guitar whose sweet, nostalgic tone touches the soul. Soon, that sound transforms into a smooth yet catchy groove, as funky basslines and retro horns, courtesy of saxophonist Jovan Quallo (a Joss Stone collaborator), infuse it with an effortlessly vintage charm.

In “Plane Jane,” Lexie transforms her memories, hurts, and lessons into a track that establishes an authentic connection with those who once felt like life was pushing them in different directions.

Lexie’s style blends Motown music, country-style storytelling, and a pop sensibility reminiscent of artists like Kelsea Ballerini, The Teskey Brothers, and Maisie Peters. Her approach is honest and refreshing.

Over the past year, Lexie has proven her talent knows no boundaries. She supported Tim Gallagher on his European tour, opened for Take That at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Park stadium in front of over 30,000 people, and led electronic artist TSHA’s live performance on her world tour. She has also brought her powerful vocal presence to some of the most important festivals on the international circuit, including Primavera Sound (Barcelona and Madrid), Fuji Rock (Japan), London Field Day, and Melt Festival (Germany), cementing her place on high-caliber stages.

Before settling in Dubai, where she’s already performed at iconic venues like the Coca-Cola Arena and Dubai Opera, Lexie was signed to both Warner and Island Records, experiences that shaped her artistic evolution and stagecraft.

“Plane Jane” is an invitation to let go, find peace in motion, and embrace the unknown with your rhythm. If you’re searching for a song to guide you through change, this one was made for you.
